This is acrylic on canvas. 23.75k gold leaf on acrylic ground for the illumination. I made this to reflect the historical reference of the relation of manuscript writing to the graffiti writing of the people who really want to make nice lettering. I’ve seen the journals of young people who study lettering to improve their graffiti styles and I thought I was a cool idea to represent that in a piece. 20 x 26”
